An evaluation mission commissioned by the City of Geneva (Délégation Genève Ville Solidaire – DGVS) was carried out in South Sudan in 2016 to take stock of a project supporting some of the most vulnerable communities on the outskirts of Juba. The mission focused on Lologo, where the Geneva-based association ASASE, in partnership with the South Sudanese organization SVDP, has been working to improve living conditions for underprivileged populations facing significant social and economic challenges.
The objective of the mission was twofold: to assess the tangible impact of the project on local communities and to formulate practical recommendations to further strengthen and sustain this impact over time. Through meetings with beneficiaries, local partners, and project teams, the evaluation highlighted both the relevance of the activities implemented and the importance of continued, well-coordinated support in a complex and fragile context.
This initiative is made possible thanks to the commitment of multiple donors, including the City of Geneva, the State of Geneva, and several communes and foundations across the Canton. Their collective support reflects a shared dedication to international solidarity and to fostering meaningful, long-term change for communities most in need.
