Advisory support to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in the management of organizational change and the field deployment of a new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system based on Oracle JD Edwards (JDE), implemented across Kenya, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Switzerland.
The assignment focused on assessing and managing the operational and human impact of the ERP rollout on end users, including logistics, finance, and operations teams in both headquarters and field environments. This included identifying how new processes, workflows, and system constraints would affect day-to-day activities in complex and often high-risk operational contexts.
Key responsibilities included the design and implementation of change management measures to support adoption, minimize disruption, and ensure continuity of operations. This involved supporting the definition and dissemination of the new organizational setup, including updated roles, responsibilities, security rules, and operating procedures associated with the new system.
The role also covered global knowledge sharing and communication, ensuring alignment between headquarters and field teams, facilitating understanding of the new ERP capabilities and limitations, and supporting consistent implementation across countries and functions.
This engagement contributed to strengthening system adoption, operational coherence, and organizational readiness during a critical multi-year transformation phase (2013–2015) within a complex humanitarian environment.
